THIS BOOK describes the career of a U.S. Army officer, a West Point graduate. Written by his daughter, Jean Peckham Kavale, it contains informative text and many photographs relating to Howard Louis Peckham’s life--his childhood in Connecticut, his pre-war service with the Corps of Engineers, and his WWII service: Assistant Chief of Staff of the 2nd Armored Division, Chief of Staff of the 8th Armored Division, Director of the Fuels and Lubricants Division, and member of the Army-Navy Petroleum Board. It also describes his postwar work as head of the American Graves Registration Command and consultant to the Free Europe Committee.
